FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Media Contact: Julie Darling September 18, 2009 312-217-0380 This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Modern Italian Restaurant with an Authentic, Old World Flair: Orvieto Pizzeria and Wine Bar Opening September 22, 2009 inside the Green Dolphin (Chicago, IL) Named after the historic Italian wine village, Orvieto Pizzeria and Wine Bar presents the perfect combination of old and new with classic, authentic cuisine and deluxe wine bar boasting a warm and cozy atmosphere with state of the art amenities. The legendary province of Orvieto, Italy has been producing some of the world's finest and most delicious wines since the middle ages. Staying true to its name, Orvieto Pizzeria and Wine Bar boasts an impressive wine list offering hundreds of bottles of predominantly white wine, some of which are directly imported from Orvieto, Italy. Its menu focuses on traditional Italian cuisine hailing from Northern Italy. Executive Chef and native Italian, Nino Coronas, is a master in preparing classic and authentic antipasti, pizze, pasta, and secondi piati. Chef Coronas was born in Sardegna, Italy where he learned at a very young age of 15 that his passion for cooking was strong. After spending his younger years inside family run kitchens in Sardegna, Chef Coronas was ready to get serious about his career, which led him to attend the Instituto Professionale Alberghiero Statale di Arzachena in Arzachena, Italy. Here the Chef refined his skills in the kitchen, and expanded his knowledge of fine Northern Italian cuisine. Upon completing his studies, Chef Coronas worked in several of the finest kitchens in Italy from Milan, to Torino, and back to his hometown of Sardegna. The experiences allowed him to work with the finest and freshest ingredients from the sea to the earth in Italy. His knowledge of cured meats, cheeses, seafood, pizza, and pasta expanded as well did his creativity. Today Chef Coronoas has entered as the head of the kitchen at (soon to be opened) Orvietto at Green Dolphin Street. The newly remodeled kitchen designed by the chef together with the owners of Green Dolphin, was created to look and function like a true Cucina Italiana. The open kitchen, filled with glistening stainless steel is centered around the gem of the kitchen which is the new "Moretti Forno" pizza oven brought over from Italy. Chef Coronas used this oven for years in Italy, and has perfected his recipe of what will be a not to be missed item on the chef's menu at Orvietto. Through years of experience with Northern Italian cuisine, Chef Coronas menu will boast fresh seafood dishes, perfectly cooked pastas and pizzas, as well as tender chicken and beef dishes. Orvieto Pizzeria and Wine Bar occupies a large space, inside the Green Dolphin, that features a charming outdoor veranda and a deluxe wine bar inside. Whether seated at a table or at the bar, guests will be able to view one of the many plasma televisions giving patrons an opportunity to view any sporting event at anytime. Phil, the "Wizard of Sports" will be on hand to take requests for guests' viewing requests. Guests can also enjoy a variety of music selections from the restaurant's digital jukebox. A bonus for being located in the legendary Green Dolphin Street, diners will always have the option of catching a live music act downstairs, with music varying from Latin and jazz to rhythm & blues.
